Day One: Home-cooking in Auckland

New Zealand Sweet Potatoes with lime to show size

We ate dinner in our hotel room...made a salad with curly lettuce and cooked beets, zucchini, mushrooms, sweet potatoes.  I also indulged in some sheeps' milk feta. 








We had a salad feast!
Gotta get moving... To the Auckland Museum, then we pick up our car and head north!

  2. Feijoa heaven, here. Several trees on our WWOOF location with set fruit. We'll have to stay to April to see them ripen...

  4. So how did those sweet potatoes taste? They do look different than the ones we get here. I wonder if you can bring home a planting slip and see how they grow here?
